SHELL

The work below are from my first agency after college. A lot of what I was involved with are mainly Above The Line advertising, with mostly collateral design, national print campaigns, and the occasional TV ad.

SHELL ROTELLA-T PRINT AD

The target audience were DPU (diesel pick-up) owners. The objective was to convey the message that Shell Rotella T provides unparalleled protection for your engine even under the harshest of conditions. I worked with world-renowned photographer Jim Smithson for this ad.

AEROSHELL POSTERS

AeroShell is the aviation division of Shell that manufactures fuel and lubricants for plane engines. They do a lot of airshow sponsorships, and below are a couple of examples of commemorative posters I designed for two of the airshows that AeroShell is a big part of.

For this poster, I worked with illustrator Dan Cosgrove to bring to life the energy and excitement of one of these events. The Sun n’ Fun Fly-in takes place in Lakeland Florida each year, so I wanted to capture the Art Deco cityscape the region is known for.

The EAA Airventure is one of the biggest airshows in the world. The event is held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, a region known for their dairy cows. A poster is developed to commemorate the annual event, featuring “Amoolia”, Aeroshell’s very own mascot. For 2008, I was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci, one of the earliest pioneers in the development of aviation.

2008 SHELL “25TH ANNIVERSARY” SUPERRIGS CALENDAR

Shell SuperRigs is an annual trucking event, bringing together some of the most beautiful 18-wheelers from around the United States. The 2007 event was held in Joplin, Missouri. Thirteen trucks from the show are specially selected to be showcased in a 13-months calendar. I worked with photographer Jim Smithson for our shots. This calendar was the recipient of a Gold and Silver Addys at the 2008 Houston Addys Awards for photography and design, respectively.
